Potomac Fiver and Tennessee Fishing
I won't be able to get any fishing in until Saturday November 13th. It suppose to be very nice the rest of week. The temps are suppose to be in the 60's. We will see how Saturday is. I hear there are quite a few folks catching some nice catfish. All I know is that I hate catfish. There is nothing like getting a good hit then just feeling the fish doing the death roll under water like a big alligator. What's worse is the after you get that ugly fish into the boat you look at your line and there is a slime trail 2 to 3 feet up your line. Usually your bait is gone or your lure is demolished (hooks broken or bent so bad that they are ready to break off) that you totally frustrated that your 5 $3 to $4 lure is ruined. Well not totally ruined. You do have to replace the hooks.
I rank catfish up there with my most hated fish to catch the toad fish. The toad fish will simply swallow your bait and hook. You don't catch any toad fish in the Potomac but you catch a lot around Salomon's Island. Still that is one of the ugliest fish with a set of teeth that will take your finger right off.

Come Monday I will be in Oakridge Tennessee for a few days. Hopefully I will have some time to go fish Douglas Lake. They say Douglas Lake is a red lake. I better stop at Dick's and pickup some red baits. Maybe I can get one of my buddies to meet me there for so fishing. Most of the guys there now are hunters so I doubt I will be able to get anybody out of the woods. Deer hunting is the number one priority there for those folks.

I might be able to go hit the Holston River (South fork or north fork). I know they are tossing some senkos there. So maybe I will bring my travel rod and a few worms for the river. Black and Blue senkos worked on Douglas but that was at night. I could give them a try during the day.

The trip will be a 4 day 3 night trip. I am going to travel with just a backpack and minimal. Well see how that works out. I never travel light since I usually have so much gear with me such as laptop, cables, power brick and various other things such as cameras. I will give it a try and see if it is doable. I will take only a what I am wearing and a set of clothes. The clothes I am using will be quick drying so it shouldn't be an issue washing them in the evenings. They should be dry by morning.
