Potomac Fiver and Tennessee Fishing
The next day I caught over 30 small mouth and large mouth bass. Jimmy caught just as many. The real trick was to know what color to throw but also figuring out where the fish were. It seemed it did not matter what plastic you threw as long as it was green.

Several observations for the week were (late spring).
1) The fish were pulled back a little deeper.
2) Watermelon caught the Large Mouth.
3) Green Pumpkin caught the Small Mouth.
4) Fish were starting to move to there spawning areas.
5) Most of the guys who fish boat houses do not throw there baits inside.
6) The guys I fish with fish to fast.
7) Use a lighter weight.
8) All fish do not spawn at the same time.

The small mouth bass were starting to move into the creeks. Some were cruising the flats. Most of the fish we caught were on secondary points and rock piles in deeper water close to there spawning areas. We caught lot of fish at the mouths of the creek. Not all fish move up at the same time for spawning.
We did not have a local guys fishing with us and getting information is like pulling teeth. We spent week with what we typically know and fish like we normally do back home. We found spots that nobody was fishing.
Most of the time we go to Boone Lake and we usually rely on some or our local buddies who fish there all year long. They would take us to the usual places (Point 2 and up). We actually found places those guys never fish and the fish were on fire. Then all the locals found out about how good we were doing and what techniques we were using. We ended up exchanging information.
The local guys usually fish the Rodeos there and new we only came in once a year. So they felt comfortable about exchanging information.

Since we found good baits and techniques for catching Rockfish (Stripers) on the Potomac we are going to try that on Boone lake. Hopefully they would go for the same thing there.
Most of the local Tennessee folks go out after midnight and fish redfins for stripers. The guys I fish with throw shiners. It gets to be expensive to by shiners every time we go fishing in Tennessee.
