Part 1: The Job
"I GOT THE IT JOB!!" I screamed in to the house. My parents and sister said:"Really?!" and I said:"Really, yes!!", showing them the piece of paper I had in my hand. They were all very happy and we celebrated with some chocolate cake. I didn't remember much after that because I was too sleepy. I had been filling the application the night before.
The next day, I went to the IT building. I had applied for the IT Awesome Coding job, but instead they put me in the IT Boring Buttons job. I asked them to change it, but they said:"It'll take three months." I walked down to the building and as I walked, I thought that it's really weird for them to take three months, but maybe the Boring Buttons job won't be so bad. It was. I was just pressing boring buttons all day, but then I realized I needed to go to the bathroom. I walked to the bathroom, but it said out of order. I was going to go to the other bathroom when the CEO said to see the out of order bathroom. "This is getting really weird," I thought. I went inside and I thought that it was creepy and needed refurbishing, but I hoped that they didn't want me to refurbish it. The toilet seemed fine, but I flushed it to make sure and... I was walking into the bathroom again. "Wait," I thought. "Didn't I already do this?" Then I realized that it was a time machine. I looked at the toilet. I found a note on it. It said:"Turn up to go forward in time and turn down to go backward in time." There was a touchscreen on the toilet which showed the number of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months you want. Right now it said 5 seconds. I finally made a decision not to travel time because there might be a conflict, you don't know what would happen, or how it would affect the past or future, or you might get stranded. It was tempting to travel time, but as I was about to walk away, the screen adjusted itself to one thousand years and it flushed up by itself. Everything was spinning and twisting and turning and....I was in the future. There were people in jet packs flying around, and there were flying cars, and there were these wormhole stations and all sorts of things, but the bathroom wasn't there. The whole IT building wasn't there. It had probably been destroyed or something. How was I going to go back? I would be stranded in the future forever! What was I going to do?
