Nomad Letters
Tomorrow
Mayumi Olivar

Set down your work.
It will keep. Close the door.
Lay your pen back on the table.

And look up.

The ceiling stops your gaze,
but there are ways to trick your eyes
into seeing further.

Tomorrow

shines like a sky full of suns.
It holds its arms open
to you, waiting.

Tomorrow, the world

will be the same enough
that you will not get lost,
but different

enough

to surprise you. When it does
stand straight to face it.
And take up your pen again

and play.
