I didn’t want think about Jared killing me right now. We walked into first period and took a seat. "I'm glad that’s over with." I said. "Ah you don’t like being watched by everyone?" He laughed. He leaned down in his seat and closed his eyes. First period was boring. Avery was nodding off. That’s the only thing that entertained me. He would hit his head against the desk, and I would try to cover up my laughing. The bell rang, and thats what woke Avery up. I laughed and put my bag over my shoulder. "Now we got to History class." He groaned and I laughed at him. We headed towards the History hall. "Oh, I left my book in my locker. You go ahead and I will meet you there." He nodded his head. I walked down the opposite hall were my locker is.
As I was walking I saw Jared out of the corner of my eye. Oh, I hope he didn’t see me. I opened my locker, trying not to look behind me. "Hey freak!" I cringed. This isn’t going to be good. I turned slowly around. As soon as I did I was thrown into the locker. He punched me in the stomach. Didn’t his mom ever tell him not to hit girls? I crumbled to the floor as he laughed. I was holding my stomach and trying not to cry. I managed to look around and I saw no one around. Jared had left but his laugh still rang in my ears. My hand automatically went to the locker for support. I raised myself up and picked up my history book. I tried to take deep breathes but nothing was helping. I put the book in my bag and shut the locker door.
I turned around and headed back towards the History hall. I heard the bell ring, but I couldn’t do anything about it. I just limped through the halls. I took a minute at the door before I walked in. I didn’t want Avery to find out what had happened. I tried to walk in and seem normal. When I stood up straight and walked into the classroom it hurt even worse. The teacher asked me why I was late and I told her a lie. I sat down next to Avery and gave him a little smile. He didn’t look all that happy, but before he could say anything the teacher started to lecture us. I tried to focus on the teacher but the pain still hadn’t stopped. It felt like I was going to puke out my stomach. I hate Jared I hate him. He is such a low life jerk. What guy that is three feet taller than a girl punches her as hard as he can? Who even hits girls at all?
I saw Avery doing something out of the corner of my eye. I looked over at him and he was taking notes. I don’t think I have seen him do that. I have only know him for two days though, so maybe he is a good student. Maybe he could tutor me. Lord knows I need a tutor. The pain started to fade and I got less and less uncomfortable. Suddenly something flew onto my desk. I looked over at Avery and he was eyeing the piece of paper now on my desk.
I unfoled the piece of paper and in bold letters it said "What happened?" Oh crap he knows something is wrong. Just play it cool. "What do you mean?" When the teacher wasn’t looking i tossed the note back to him. When he saw it he shook his head.
