"Com'on Jerry. How long have we been buds can't you do this for me?" i pleaded to my best friend of so many years.
"No Ray. i can't i'm a teacher now... thats's my student..." he hesitated looking for the right excuse.
"Jerry," i looked at him. "I'm not trying to date her. For crying out i'm twenty five what would i want with an 18 year old freshman. Plus i'm married remember? she could be the one. she could be the person to bring my books to another level. don't tell me you really wanna stand in the way of that. Do you?" by the wavering look on jerry's face i knew it wouldn't be long before i got what i wanted.
"You'd have to actually help her you know Ray, not just leech her story out of her. i expect to see inprovement." jerry lightly scolded.
"And you will, you will." Jerry was so cautious, it was tedious to re-assure him so many times but in the end you tended to get what you want.
"You know Ray all i can do is introduce you as a tutor and give her your contact infomation. there's no garentee that she will use it."
"I know." i admitted reluctantly. "But isn't it better to atleast try?"
"Yeah yeah." Jerry partially grunted in dismissal, but i knew he would pass on my card to her whenever he'd get the chance. i knew i could always count on Jerry.
i forced my eyes open from the flashback of a few days ago, Jerry had fallen asleep on the arm chair beer in hand. pulling myself off his living room floor i felt my stiff body ache, it looks like i had fallen asleep too. While twisting out the kinks i glanced at the time, it was around two in the morning. "Hey loser." i shook the blob sleeping on the chair rough enough to wake him up. "Go to bed already. i'm gonna call a cab."
In the cab with the window rolled all the way down, i was now wide awake. The cold crisp air of fall continuously slapping my face, knocked all traces of sleep somewhere far off bringing reality back into focus with a slight headache partly from fatigue partly from drinking so much. My restless thoughts brought me back to my computer, back to my new character, back to Francine.
Back in the apartment it's quiet, but then again it's always too quiet to be comfortable.instead of going to bed i find myself in the den. My computer welcome's me back with it's low humming telling me its flowing with energy. unable to help myself i find myself logging into my hotmail account. i was compelled to see if she e-mailed me, to see if i would have a chance to talk to her myself. I felt adrenalin pump through my veins forcing my lips to crack into a smile. Greedily i read her
