my ankle, this intense pain went through as if someone took a dull knife and
hacked off my ankle in one cut. I let a loud cry before I jerked up. Then I was
in my room. Just like that. I was sitting up, sweat poured down my face, and I
was panting. I quickly grabbed the sheets over my legs and desperately threw them
to the side. I pushed my pants up to my knee and looked over my ankle. There was
nothing there. I quickly looked at my other ankle. There was nothing. I let out a
deep breath and fell back into my sheets. I let out a shaky laugh. It was more
than relieving that it was just a dream. At that moment, there was a knock on my
door before it creaked open. There stood a butler. He bowed rather quickly.
"I'm sorry, sir, for disturbing you so early in the morn. But, Alexander requests your
presence at the breakfast table. Breakfast will be ready in 15 minutes, so try to
be ready and down there in that time." He gave a rather unamused look at how I was laid.
Embarrassed at my current state, I nodded and simply said, "Okay. Thank you for informing me. Tell him I'll be there." He made a hum of approval and nodded before turning around and gently shutting the door. Sighing, I slowly got up and went into the washroom. He always seemed to treat me as a child. I turned on the water and splashed my face with it. Grabbing a towel an drying my eyes I looked in the mirror. My hair was tousled and my eyes looked sleepy. I thought it would probably be best to have a shower before meeting with Alexander.
After I was done, I went back to the mirror. I grabbed the brush and quickly ran it through my hair before hurrying to get dressed.
I opened my bedroom door and stepped out. The second I stepped out and saw the hallway, it brought back the memories of last night and of my dream. It overwhelmed me all at once and I fell to the floor with a loud thump. I shut my eyes and I could vividly see the... the beast from my nightmares. For a few seconds I was back in that room. But, then a rush of cool air hit my face and I opened my eyes again. I was rigid and I felt like I had laid there for the longest. I shakily stood up before any one might see me. I held on tightly to the doorknob even after I was up. No, I thought, this was a dream and nothing more. There is nothing I could possibly be afraid of. There IS nothing to be afraid of.
