in the middle of the room and on the floor. The candle I held was melted down to
the point where it looked as if I was the holding the flame itself. In my dream,
the room held no detail. It was mostly dark. I slowly walked to the candle and
bent down to examine it. As I got to my knees, the flame wavered. After that, I
heard a loud bang behind me. My flame went out so the only light in the whole
room was the wavering light. For some reason, my hand went to my pocket in my jacket. As my hand delved into it and came into contact with something hard and warm, I heard rather heavy
breathing. My hand froze as did my whole body. I slowly looked up until I saw
dark, long, black hair. Before I could look any further and see their face, I
heard that scream. The very same scream and it came from the being in front me.
It loud, deafening even. My heart felt like it constricted and then when I went
to try and look further up, this... this banshee before me screamed even louder,
which didn't seem possible. My ears hurt and I stopped trying to look into it's
face. My hands flew to cover my ears, anything just to dampen the screaming which
was no screeching. However, when my hand went out of my pocket, the object had
flown out with it. It went flying across the room, but, I didn't care, didn't
want to care, but part of me started to panic. The need to grab, to find, to
hoard it, this object that I don't even know what it was, overpowered any other
feeling. I didn't understand it and tried to tell that part that it didn't
matter, that saving my ears was more important, but then that feeling increased
tenfold. Unable to ignore it and finally succumbing to the panic, I struggled to
get up. However, my body felt weighed down and it was impossible for me to stand
up. The beast started to step away from the light as if to go to whatever this
object was. The need to get it before this beast was so strong that I threw
myself in the direction I knew it was. I hit the ground hard. It was as if there
were weights on me. In my dream, there probably was. But, this didn't stop me. I
started to crawl and I felt rather than saw the beast turn towards me. It started
it's screaming again and I grounded my teeth together. Still crawling, I didn't
bother to glance back. As I put my hand forward I felt what the object was in the
my hand. However, before I could fully get an idea of what this was or what it
felt like, it stopped screaming. The moment it stopped the candle went out. Fully
submerged in darkness I heard it move. I heard a loud dull thump before something
wrapped around my ankle. I felt as if my heart stopped as terror overtook me.
But, that was not the worse because the second I felt those fingers wrap around
