Love is a need. You can say that it is a simple desire or want if you so choose, but I believe that it is a full-on need. Humans want it to the point of needing it. Think about it; If you were living alone, with absolutely no friends or family, no pets... no one to talk to or have fun with, wouldn't you feel deprived? Wouldn't you feel like you didn't have a place in the world, like your life had no meaning at all? I know I would, but I have plenty of love in my life. My raw, humanistic need for love is satiated. Some people's isn't. Many, many people, to be more realistic. There are the people who have a need/want for love, and they're satisfied. They know they need/want love and they've got it, so they're okay. There are the people who know they need/want love but they don't have it. They feel alone in the world and helpless, like no one in the universe could ever understand or love them. Then there are the strange ones- the ones who want/need love but they don't know it/refuse to admit it to themselves. There are cases where these people don't admit that they want/need love and they don't get it, and there are cases where these people don't admit that they want/need love, even when people are trying to give them that love. They shut them out. They're oblivious to their social surroundings. Those people are what I like to call "odd birds." They are the ones that need to be focused on especially. Usually, the odd birds have some reason why they shut out love. It could be because of past loving situations where they got hurt. Be it a loved one dying, a boyfriend or girlfriend breaking up with them, a jerk playing them, or any other of the sort. It could be anything. But they usually have a reason why they won't love or let love in. We need to target them and try to show them that it's okay to be susceptible to love. It's okay. We need to show them that there is always love out there for them, regardless of the source. Someone out there cares for you, no matter where you are or who you are. No matter where you're from or who your parents are. None of that matters. You can love. You can be loved. Don't ever dare say that you are unlovable. Because, as long as I am on this earth and even in the beyond, you will have someone who loves you. I say this because I can honestly say that I love each and every being on this earth, be it man or beast. I always have and I always will.
