That's when she dared to look back at me, obviously annoyed at my last comment. She doesn't take too well to sharp, smart responses. That's what I concluded at least. Arina lowered her eyelids to make her gaze resemble something of a venomous leer and if it was supposed to scare me back into place, it didn't really work. I simply grinned on, waiting for her to find a way out of this metaphorical box I made.
"No, I don't. I figured you'd be fluent in the language of sarcasm but I suppose you aren't." she quipped back before glancing away from me, making herself stuck-up. Surprisingly, Arina didn't actually lose points with me for doing that. Which--shocker--doesn't usually happen. High-maintenance women are exceptionally annoying to me. I don't appreciate being used for shiny trinkets and stuff. I will treat them when I want to or if the lady sadly seems to be stuck in a financial rut, that's it.
Arina didn't seem like the type to want to be treated and that's what counteracted everything. Rarities: you gotta love them.
"Why don't you bother teaching me the ropes then?" I was pushing my luck now, that became clear. She simply gave me an even more poisonous glare and stalked off. I was falling out of her shaky graces fast. "H-hey wait a minute!"
"What do you want from me?!"
"To help you, idiot!"
"Who are you calling an idiot?"
"You, that's who! I'm trying to repay you here, but all you keep doing is blocking my advances!"
"I have a boyfriend you know!" for a few seconds, Arina left me in surprise. I don't think she really meant to be so perceptive with my feelings, but it nevertheless left me in a temporary shock. If I stayed anymore silent, I'm sure my cover would have blown sky high.
"Who said I was interested in that?! Are you really going to judge me that quickly girl?" besides of the fact that she was spot on with her assumption, it didn't stop me from sounding appropriately pissed. Now it was her turn to feel the disabling shock she put me through. Everything always came around full circle; that was always something I admired in life.
