Prompt # 103 - Create a poem using Dickinson's "Bring me the sunset in a cup" as a starting point.
Bring me the sunset in a cup
And tell me it was hard to get
The path to Olympus- a long way up
And with Zeus you made a bet
My bottled dusk
Would be a difficult task
But deliver, you must
The time for failure had passed.
Drive the Chariot of Fire,
Challenged Zeus with a smile,
And smoothly through the sky bring Luna higher
The cart obeyed your slightest command
As you swept over the last of the day
And swung night over the land
Zeus had been beat
And a deal's a deal
You won the prize for the feat-
You brought me the grail
You say this is how you bring me my eve
And that's all fine and well
But your love is still hard to believe
Bring the Garden of Eden in a vase
And maybe I'll think about it
But of course, for my love, there are other men you must race.
Bring me the sunset in a cup
And tell me it was hard to get
The path to Olympus- a long way up
And with Zeus you made a bet
My bottled dusk
Would be a difficult task
But deliver, you must
The time for failure had passed.
Drive the Chariot of Fire,
Challenged Zeus with a smile,
And smoothly through the sky bring Luna higher
The cart obeyed your slightest command
As you swept over the last of the day
And swung night over the land

You brought me the grail
You say this is how you bring me my eve
And that's all fine and well
But your love is still hard to believe

And maybe I'll think about it
But of course, for my love, there are other men you must race.
