OLIVIA: Okay good! I have some REALLY big news! So, you know how we’ve been writing stories in class? Well, they said if we wanted we could enter them in a story contest! Each grade picked a winner. So I wrote mine and it was about this prince and he gets saved by a princess, cuz I knew everyone was going to be writing them the other way around and I wanted to stand out. And everyone in my class who read it said it was REALLY funny so, guess who won?!
LILY: Hmm, was it Sarah?
OLIVIA: No...
LILY: Eric?
OLIVIA: No!
LILY: What about...
OLIVA: NO IT WAS ME!!! I won!!!
LILY: Oh, of course! I should’ve known! I’m so proud of you! You must be an outstanding writer.
OLIVIA: Yeah I am! And there’s an award assembly tomorrow at school and all the parents are going to be there, and I’m gonna get a certificate...
LILY: Heather, did you hear--
HEATHER: Yeah, it’s really hard NOT to.
LILY: She won a contest--
HEATHER: (still cooking) I can’t go.
OLIVIA: ...That’s okay...You wanna read it? My story?
HEATHER: Later.
LILY: (to herself, but loud enough for Heather to notice) Bet George would’ve gone... (Heather glares at her, Lily doesn’t notice)
OLIVIA: What about Dad?
LILY: Nothing. I was just...it doesn’t matter, forget it. (Olivia looks confused and curious, but shakes it off)
OLIVIA: Well, you’ll go right?
LILY: Hmm, was it Sarah?
OLIVIA: No...
LILY: Eric?
