“Cop don’t want no trouble, but yet here he is.”
Alex caught a movement in the mirror. Another man jumped up from behind the bar. He saw the reflection of the guy swinging something towards him. He didn’t have time to react. blinding pain shot through him and all went dark.

“Just stay in the car.” Ro mimicked. She watched as four guys walked down the street and entered the bar. She recognized the type. She also recognized trouble when she saw it. New York was a great training guide to learn all you need to know about thugs and gangs. Inner New York streets were mean.
Ro reached in the back seat where she threw her backpack. Rummaging inside, she pulled out a block of wood a little smaller than her back pocket, Her bottle of cheap perfume and her telescoping thug beater. She ruffled up her hair and tied her over shirt right below her breast. She popped a stick of gum in her mouth and sprayed some of the cheap perfume all over her. Ro pulled the keys out the ignition, got out and locked the door. Glancing at her reflection in the window, she ruffled her hair some more. She turned and walked into the bar.
“Hey boys,” she popped her gum and surveyed the area. “Juan up north said this was the place to hang.” She spotted Alex being held up between two men. He was bleeding from his temple, and it looked like they just started to work him over. Blood was dripping from a cut from his lip and one from his cheekbone. And he didn’t look happy to see her.
