your way to Tarturus yourself." Gaea leaned forward from the tree. " What you are about to face is not like anything you have ever faced before. Because they too, are gods."
Zeus, puzzled, looked at her. " Gods? Other than the Olympians? How could we have not seen them before, or at least heard of them?" Gaea rolled her eyes. " Child you are young and naive. You are the sky god of those who believe in you and your rule extends only as far as they do." she sighed looking anxiously toward the exit. Zeus' puzzled look was replaced by a thoughtful one. " So in the farthest lands of the world there are other gods? Why have I never heard of them? And why have you? Don't your faithful only exist in and close to Greece as well?" Weakly laughing Gaea shook her head. " I am not like a god. I am the Earth itself and all the peoples of the world have a name for me. Gaea is what I am called here."
Zeus looked his grandmother in the eyes. It was clear the idea of freedom was having a positive effect on her. Her skin was turning a faint mossy green. " What are these 'gods' called?" he asked. " The Northern gods or, The Norse gods." she replied. A smile spread across Zeus' face, finally a name to this mysterious enemy. " And how do I beat them?" Gaea looked to the outside again. " Let me go outside before I tell you. Please?" she pleaded. Zeus nodded and stepped away from the door. With the grace and speed of a young women Gaea bound from the room. Zeus chased after her. The mystical light from the walls had vanished making the cave dark. Zeus chased after the old titanness as fast as he could but couldn't manage to keep up with her. When he reached the opening of the cave he saw the clouds had cleared away and starlight shone down. " Gods, as you know, cannot be killed." A voice said behind him. Gaea was leaning against the mountain side. Her entire body had changed, her skin had turned into a vibrant green and her eyes shone as green as the forest. " Have you been leading me on then?" Zues roared. Gaia stepped forward to the edge of the cliff, staring out into the distance, her bare toes stretching over the edge. She could see the faint image of what had Zues so frightened. Far in the distance a bitter winter storm was leaving the land barren and cold. " You did not kill your Father and Uncles and Aunts did you?" Zues sighed with relief. " So I can weaken them? And trap them?" She nodded her head, careful to not take her eyes off the storm. Zues gripped his Sickle as a loud thunderclap from the storm filled the air. " Thank you Grandmother. Now about releasing my Father..."
Gaia turned bitterly around to face him. " You seem to forget they too are gods and are likely just as powerful as you. I would not doubt they are more powerful in fact, if there power can expand to this distance without fading." She hissed.
