Warm smell of pizza is in the air
As I enter from the freezing cold,
My eyes search the dimly lit room
As I wait and the minutes roll

When I look up our eyes meet
And I return the warm smile,
We start off right away, as we
await the table across the aisle

Potatoes, portobello and pesto
Caramelized onions and cheese
Fill the space between us, while
the conversation never does cease

A few laughs, a few smiles
And several discussions later
The jackets are back on and
Towards the car we saunter

I hold the hand across the puddle
One smiling and the other amused
The roads are clear and home is near
As over the conversation I muse
