She should have never slept with him.It wasn't supposed to happen but it did and now she had to live with it and they both were going to have to learn to work together. She couldn't help but find him attractive with those dark brooding eyes and that thick clump of black hair. He was quiet unlike her and if he spoke then you sat up and listened. She knew nothing about him personally other then he had been married before. Marianna wondered if he had ever thought of her and him together. It was hard for her to read him. Someday he would make a great detective. There was something dangerous about him that made him very attractive to her but she couldn't put her finger on it. Maybe if she ever trusted anyone again, like when she was eighty then they could perhaps try for a relationship.
John weaved through the traffic until they made it to the crime scene. Plenty of cars were onhand with the captains in the front. Rope had tied off the scene and spotlights were set up so they wouldn't miss any evidence. A small crowd was hovering under the street light across the street. Marianna doubted anyone had seen anything. Although this was getting into a residential neighborhood it was two thiry in the morning and most people would be asleep at the time of the crime. John held the tape up for Marianna as she made her way to the victim. Her eyes widened.
The victim was a redhead. Her body was spread eagle naked, the same as the first, except this victim had both wrists mutilated, covered in so much blood that you could barely see her hands.
"Her wrists were almost severed. It looks like the only thing holding them on is the skin. What a sicko." Chief Sisnero said.
Marianna nodded towards the chief careful not to make direct eye contact. He was upset with her and she didn't want a blow up in front of everyone.
