The Night the Moon Bled
This brought her hope, for it showed that she was hope in a way, but for who she did not know. She looked at her finished sketch and drawing and showed it to the teacher who approved and asked her why the moon was bleeding red.
"Ma'am I was born when the moon bled red, or so my mother told me." Shy told her teacher as she sat down once more and began drawing the things that came to her head.
Random things formed on her page, until she saw them as one: An angel lay on her side, blood pouring out, as a boy cried over her, his tearing forming ice crystals on the angel. Shy let out a gasp, this was the same image she had always dreamt of since her mother died, but what it meant she did not know for this was new to her. The angel's hair was wild, tousled and red, but her eyes had the same icy winds that where in Shy's own eyes. She smiled and laughed, for this was somehow funny for her, after all she was the only person she had ever met with the icy gusts trapped in their eyes, and the only other person she knew had something trapped in their eyes, was her dead mother who had fire trapped in her chocolate brown eyes. Though, that was long ago before she was left alone to fend for herself, but right now Shy could have cared less.
Thanatos looked silently at Shy, who was looking at picture in front of her, where a boy cried over the death of a red headed angel. He smiled, for this girl in front of him was not like the other girls that had fought for his attention, no, she didn't want any one's attention, but her own. Thanatos went up to Shy who was looking at another sketch of hers, but this one was her self portrait, and Thanatos saw something that he had never seen before, hope filling the person in a sketch, and the darkness not touching her, where the darkness would have touched everyone else.
Thanatos sat down next to Shy and looked at her until she turned, once more the mask that he had seen was gone, for she thought she didn't need it. "What do you want?" She asks him, her face filled with something that Thanatos can not register, but he knows that this is the only thing that she can say, for her eyes tell everything about her.
She looks at him her face sad as he begins to answer her. "I just came to see if you can tell me how to fix this?" He tells her as he points to his self-portrait, a small looking frail boy with big blue eyes, and strawberry blond hair, with tears flowing down his face.
"Nothing, it is great, for not everyone can draw themselves showing any other emotion than no emotion, empty faces with empty eyes." She tells him, her eyes lighting up as she sees the picture come to life, in her mind, the boy crying for someone has hurt him, and an angel comforting the boy, telling him all will be well as soon as he finds someone to love him for who he really is.
That reminded Shy of the time her mother told her, when she would have someone to see her in the light of the moon bleeding and for who she really was.
