ACT 1: Grey Falls

Chapter I: New Arrival

"Lauren gazed at the sky and there she spotted a dark raincloud looking down on her. She asked the cloud why it was dark and the cloud answered: "Because I am sad." To this the girl didn't know how to-" the sentence wasn't finished yet, the pen tipped the paper again and started swinging beautiful lines. These lines became letters and the letters formed a word. It was: "react" and then there came a dot. The person felt herself shaking, the road must've been rough. She looked at the sentences again. They had become part of a story, a fantastic one. It reminded her of Alice in Wonderland, lots of her own stories did. Maybe that was a good sign. A sign that she had creativity. No story she wrote resembled another and if, then only in the fact that they were looked upon as 'weird' by her family and other potential readers. The girl laid the pen down on her lap and leaned back, looking at the seat before her. The bus drive had been fairly hard until now, she had to admit. It was now early morning, the sun had only just started to rise, and they had moved on the bus in the afternoon the day before.

She yawned, her head tilting rather weakly away from the sight of the seat towards the window. Through it, she saw a huge lake, the mist settling upon it, leaving whatever was behind it a mistery. The side of the lake was covered mostly in grass, it's lush green only adding to the rather fitting tiresome mood. She let her elbow move onto the writing pad, using her hand to support her head. She hated long trips with the bus, especially on streets like this. For the most time the roads in this country seemed to be poorly cared for. There were lots of holes that had made the nightride a hell on it's own. Being thorougly shaken through, she hadn't had any time to sleep, at most an hour, maybe less. The morning mood, the still poorly cared for road, the snoring of the person who sat next to her, she hated bus rides.

What made it worse, was the knowledge of to where she would go. She had taken a look at the prospects, had talked to her parents about it. Still it was a weird thought. The rest of her teenager days she would spent apart from her family. Right now, she was to excited to actually think about it. The mist was pretty much covering it, but she knew that the Grey Falls Boarding School was build by it's side. An old castle with an even older town before it. The thought of it was actually a bit dazzling, since it had a lot of potential to it. Maybe she'd find some inspiration here and with a bit of luck, everybody else would leave her alone very quickly.
