Story: "Fetching Dreams"
Name: Rachel
----
Good morning/afternoon/evening. My name is Rachel Moon. Let's be mature and not tell me oh so funny jokes about my last name. Seriously, we're all adults here. Actually I can't speak for you but I most certainly know I'm capable of being mature. And intelligent. That is automatically more than 99% of my high school. If you haven't guessed already, I know who I am. I know what I want. And I will stop at nothing to achieve my goals. Just don't get in my way. I don't know what else you'd want to know about me. Why do you want to know? Or better yet, do you even deserve to know? Why should I invest the time and effort in getting to know you if you're just going to waste my time? Yes, I am boring. I don't care. I have things to do that will help me lead a better life and leave this hell hole of a town. Do I have friends? How about a better question. Do you NEED friends? I certainly don't. I can do things by myself. I don't need yours or anyone else's help. I hate it when people whine about their problems and then don't do anything to change their circumstances. Everyone has the same amount of time in a day. They're given the same tools. It's how you make the most of what you have that determines the sort of person you are. Boyfriend? Who has the time? Victor? Oh, he's more like a secretary or default partner. I met him in freshman year of high school. He seemed smart enough and kept me interested. We do go out occasionally but nothing ever progresses after. I made it very clear that school was my number one priority. There is a scholarship that is worth a full ride to any college of my choice. It's pretty competitive as you can imagine. There's only one person I even deem worthy of being my rival. And that's Luke Lee. Of course, the fact that he hangs out with Lucy Vo makes me feel like there must be something defective in his head despite the obvious intelligence there. We're neck and neck right now. I'm working my ass off to make sure I get that scholarship and NOT Luke. I work two part-time jobs. Plus take a bunch of AP classes and pretty much take care of myself. I know that I'll be fine and do well. It's only a matter of time.
