In which Kia decides to have a bout with her past lover... Nate.
-------
"Why do you care?!" the shaggy-haired brunette male shouted loudly at the woman by him. Her eyes were the color of grass today, due to contacts that she liked to put in when her mood saw fit. When she felt like wanting to be human.
His eyes however, were a stormy gray, and full of annoyance, "What would you know anyway? It's not like you can read my mind or something. I already know about the whole item thing, yours has nothing to do with minds!"
At this point, she had been keeping a rather bemused smile, deciding that he was just being immature... even though physically he was older (than her), his mentality never seemed to change from then. Yet as he brought up mind reading, she raised a brow and looked over at him, "Unlike most of the people in HQ, you, Nate, seem to have emotions that practically about scream out what you are thinking. Not that hard to spell it out when I know how you feel every time you see Summer."
Stunned silence and his jaw dropped, "You... you can sense my emotions?" The reply was one that proclaimed 'Duh, idiot' and he shook his head, "You couldn't do that before... no... you would've said something... what did you do, steal the ability with your giant seashell from Hell and put it on yourself?"
"No, idiot." she turned and half seethed at him, causing him to step back. Obviously, someone pushed on the wrong button, "If. You. Must. Know. The Empathy was the second item I received under circumstances beyond my control."
"What... what was the term?" He drawled out slowly in attempts not to infuriate her further. That shell of her's was dangerous he knew, and he didn't feel like being on the bad end of that thing.
