750 words that doesn't seem like a lot until you have to actually take the time and record them. I know I don't have to write about anything, but I can write about everything. This seems like a good way to do it. I have tried various ways of writing a diary and all have been too much of a hassle to keep up with the journal, and the pen, and then finding the time to write, but with 750 words I am able to write at anytime I want to from anywhere with internet access. Yay! Earlier this month I started what I am calling the journey to freedom. So far this has gone pretty well with only one or two slip ups. Whats more after starting this I have had more energy, more drive, and some of my acne has cleared up. Maybe this wasn't such a bad idea after all to go on this journey, maybe it will really change my life. At school we are planning on starting a purpose driven life time, where we will meet on Friday mornings before school to do a Bible study led by Coach Bliss. I think this will be really good, and I already know of several students who are interested in coming, even though it is kinda early in the morning. 7:00 big deal. No its not. For Cross Country we had to be at school at six every morning not just on Fridays. Hopefully we will even be able to get out after-school Bible study Thrive back up and swinging. It was such a great experience and it really brought those of us who went weekly into a tight knit group, much tighter than we had previously been. We even got to the point where we were starting to open up and share personal information with each other, and I miss that openness. For the past several weeks I have been going to Mom and Dad's Bible study, and we have been learning about Philippians. Today's lesson was how we not only need to work hard to be good, but we need to work even harder to know God, and to love him, and more importantly have a strong yearning to be with him. Over these past several weeks since starting this study I have really learned a lot about how to grow in Christ, and I think that it has made me a better person. On Friday we had senior night to recognize all of the fall athletes. Because of this special occasion I did not want to be Rambler for the football game and then not have time to get back out there for the ceremony. After voicing my concerns to Coach Max he told the volleyball girls that I would be looking for a replacement for Senior night to be Rambler. Claire volunteered, but then when I asked her about it on Monday she was really upset that Max had told me. However, she was willing to go ahead and give it a try because she said she would. I told her that I would bring her ice packs to wear because man does it get hot in there, but not knowing from experience she tried to decline my offer. I still brought the ice packs anyway, and when I got there thirty minutes early for the game to help her suit up I found that she had already suited up and was hanging out with the cheerleaders. I recognized very quickly that she was already hot, so I went up and told her that I had the ice packs if she was willing to go and put them on. She graciously agreed. However, the ice packs did not seem to be able to recharge her energy. For most of the first quarter, and almost all of the second she did little more than sit on the sidelines, drink water, and then take trips back and forth to the locker room where she could spend a few minutes without the head on to cool off. Half way through the second quarter she was done, and she went and took the suit off. Not willing to not have Rambler make a good appearance at the game, I suited up and went out there and did everything I could to make sure that I showed her up. Doing push ups, extra dancing, lots of clapping, etc. I do not think that she will be Rambler next year, but when I talked to Ally yesterday, she said that she would love the chance to be Rambler. I might let her try it this Friday at out last home game of the season, where hopefully we will become 10 - 0. After I made my appearance as Rambler, I had time to change out of the suit and get ready for Senior night. It went very well and we were able to recognize 14 Seniors for their time at Allen and their dedication to the various sports that they participate in. Yesterday we had the BEST robotics competition. This year's theme was Blade runner where in a team had to obtain an oversize, overweight permit to drive on the roads, avoid disturbing the local wildlife, and then when both were done transport wind turbine blades to where they could be assembled in the scoring area. This was a very difficult assignment, and like every year most teams were able to score a few points, but a few were able to score a whole bunch of points. We were there all day, and managed to score in many rounds, but since we didn't have a clearly designed strategy we lost a lot of points where it would have been easy to score. Although we didn't do that well for out robot 16th out of 21 we still had the best booth and notebook that we have ever had. Sadly neither our booth nor our robot was good enough to allow us to move on to the state competition, but we had fun competing, and we learned a lot. I was really hoping that I would be able to make it to the state competition at least once in my six years of robotics, but sadly that was not the case. In any case I enjoyed the competition, and have learned a lot in my six years of robotics.
