Open Course Ware: Learn to write fiction
ex 1: 1 truth 3 lies
It was picture day. Ugh. This was the third time this year that we all had to line up in the hall way just so the little short man with a camera could take a picture of us and then immediately call "NEXT." It was so irritating to have to wait to take a picture. I mean I already knew what I looked like why did I have to remind myself, but every year we have to do it. Then when we were about halfway through his battery died, making the delay, and the misery even longer.
ex 2: 3 truths 1 lie
Massive. That's the only way to describe the amount of homework that I have this week. I have 3 projects, 2 upcoming tests, and a research paper due sometime this week. School has been going pretty well with good grades in all of my classes, but then this week of homework. I only hope that I can get it all done. Luckily there has been some talk about maybe postponing the test, so this should help to lighten the load. Then on top of our extreme workload, the English teacher was not even there today to help with the research paper that's due Friday. With her absence today it has been extremely difficult to fully understand what I am to do. I think I can get all of this work done, but it will be really hard, and may result in a lack of sleep.
ex 3: Character sketch
30ish man, fatigues, long hair, beard, pink hair tie, tired.
He was a man of about 30 no one could really say. Every where he went he was the same, always dressed in military fatigues and physically fatigued himself. His long hair and growing beard made one think that he didn't really care about his appearance, but just looked for an easy way out of work. However, with careful observation one would notice that his long hair was not unkempt or untidy, but very neatly pulled back and tied with a pink hair band. Though pink does not seem like the proper color for this man's size, strength, and overall appearance, the little pink flair, and the neatness of his hair show that he cared about something, but what no one could say.
