"What, you brought a sandwich again, man?" I took a slow and calculated bite, in revenge. "I'm just saying, man. You gotta get your little lady friend to start making you some good food. Like...," he stared off to the floor. There was some bug walking along, scavenging for the crumbs that we abandon so easily. I'm sure it was one of his relatives. He crushed it. Maybe a second cousin.
I took another bite of my sandwich.
"... I know she's a cutie and all. But when I get a girl, that's always the first order of business." He let out a deep rooted laugh. How overjoyed he must be from the sound of his own voice. I took another bite of my sandwich. Still, I'm a little envious of his confidence.
"Yeah, well, ok. I'll see ya later dude." He patted on the back in a patronizing sort of manner. Like he had just taught me the way of the world, hopped onto a horse, no saddle, and rode off into the sunset. What a gem. I looked at the crushed carcase of his second cousin. The body stood in contrast to the only mildly blackened floor. I took a bite of my sandwich.

I walked home following a thin drizzle of rain. Each drop a refreshing burst of sensation against my skin. I'd close my eyes but for fear it would overwhelm my senses, or I'd walk into a pole.
I decided against walking my down my typical path. The other day I found my shoe print from a previous meandering embedded in the easily shifted dirt. I couldn't bring myself to walk the same path after that. I found a quaint neighborhood, inhabited by smiling individuals, who waved and asked: "How are you, today?", as if they had any reason to care.
There was a abnormally green bush in the front of one abnormally large house.
