I'm taking a break from Sock Monkey Death Asylum to bring you a one page story.

"Fish are falling from the sky, Malcolm! And you just think that's normal?" Artemis threw her hands in the air, poised as a pedestal of frustration with her partner. Malcolm quietly stared into the sky and pondered freely, ignoring her tantrum.
"Are you even listening to me?" She stomped in front of him, still not rousing him from his sloshing cognition.
"Artie. Move a little to your left." His eyes never left the sky.
Artemis scratched her head. "No! You always do this to me. Screw you Malcolm! Falling fish from the-" A slender sardine pitted onto her noggin and she yelped in astonishment. "Jesus Christ. Malcolm. Let's get inside and out of this nonsense."
Malcolm grinned. "I told you to move."
Artemis' temper erupted into a slew of insults, nonsensical phrases, and mumbling that would cause even the dirtiest of sailors to blush. The scandalous riot of frustration ended with the abrupt slamming of their SUV door.
Inside Malcolm's head, thoughts were busy tying themselves together into a knot of a thought.
"Y'know." He paused realizing Artemis was in the car sulking. He quietly walked over and tapped on the window. Several moments passed before she relented and rolled it down slightly, hoping no fish would bounce off of him and into the car.
"Y'know Artie. There was a tornado that hit the lake about an hour ago, perhaps the fish hit there. Or perhaps a bait shop. Or both." A sperm whale dropped from the sky 50 yards from their truck. "Or perhaps we're caught in a Douglass Adams novel."
A flower pot plopped next to the whale and Malcolm nodded. "We're in a novel."
Artemis sighed. "Great. I fucking hate novels."
