I've often thought of writing some sort of novel. After all, a life of voracious and promiscuous consumption of every sort of reading material seems like it ought to qualify me in some small manner. Life is art, art is life and reading falls in that category.
An auto-biography? Perhaps a bit boring as I am not famous (nor infamous thankfully). no real big time adventures to pour forth from my angst-ridden soul.
Quality of writing, or of any art for that matter, means the most. Far more than subject matter. I've seen a lot of "chick flicks" during my time as a husband. The ones that are forgettable differ from the ones that were a pleasure or even a delight to view was quite simply the quality of writing and subsequent rendering thereof into a cinematic format.
Big words. I don't want to use them simply so I can use big words. Appearing haughty is not on my list of things to do. That being said, there is something to a rich, complex vocabulary. Understanding words is the keystone to not only quality communication but to quality life. I won't try to force that down anyone's throat but it sure is true to me.
A famous philosopher said, "Art is the quality of communication". Wow is that ever so! Sometimes I feel myself awash with aesthetic that I need to place in the world for others to share. I fall down more times than not and am amicable jealous of those who can do so with apparent facility.
Maybe a sci-fi piece or some sort of fiction?
Walking the parking lot at lunch; I had an epiphany on a bit of writing that I plan to do next....as I type out the body of the plot line it becomes a lot more complex. What seemed so simple and straightforward in my mind gets a lot more involved when I look at transferring it into the written word. There's that art thing again...and how will the screenplay be handled? Another bag of worms.
