The day started out with me being awakened to my ring tone - which always seems much louder at ten am than any other time - and Liz on the call ID. I answered, presented my query as to why she was calling and her answer was a good one. I am going to lake of the woods today with her. I could use a day up there, away from my house, away from the impending monotony that the day seemed to be holding.
The lake was beautiful and blue, a good change from our local lake that is a 15 minute drive from anywhere in Ashland, which is usually green and muddy. Looking out over the lake I felt the sense that sitting right there, looking at that lake, feeling the cool breeze coming off the densely wooded hills, was exactly where I wanted to be - the only place I wanted to be-.
