The clock struck six. The final touches were being finalized as friendly, and unfamiliar faces began to congregate outside the school doors. People filed in and mingled awkwardly with others until seven. The first hour of the dance was usually pretty social but not very active dance wise. Only the brave few, usually myself and good friend would enter the gymnasium to dance before 7:30. This school dance I had no time to mingle, I had to keep my obligation to student council. I stood behind the coatcheck with some other student council members. People lined the now crowded and bodily scented cafeteria. Coat check was runnig frantically back and forth taking peoples coats and scrawling down numbers on the backs of people's hands.
