Her dreams were broken by the sound of feet down the hallway. "Neighbors!" the scouts exclaimed as they raced the halls. "We found more neighbors!" Knowing that she could not rest now, nor would quiet resume for some time, she shook off the cloak that covered her and stretched, climbing from her makeshift bed in the cotton bales. Stored underground to keep them dry, they had made warm, if not sufficient, beds for the weary.
