Roxanne took out her earrings and the stud from her nose. She could feel the sway of the ship under her feet. At first, it did make her stomach uneasy, but she'd grown used to it. She stripped off her clothes and found her red-and-black striped bikini. She slipped the already-tied neck strap around her head and tied up the bottom strings behind her back, and then slipped into the bikini bottom held together by strings on either side. She pulled back her long, red-and-purple-streaked hair into a high bun, although her side swept bangs weren't long enough. After checking herself out in the mirror of her balcony room, she pulled on denim shorts and a white tank top over top of her swimsuit and hung a towel over her arm.
Roxanne pushed her room card, a small bottle of sunscreen, and a camera into a little zip-lock bag, and she slipped on black flip-flops and headed out. The cruise ship was like a maze of corridors and rooms on several different decks. It was very easy to get lost there. She found her way to an elevator, and stepped inside when the door opened. Another person, a boy, was inside; he looked a little older than her. She smiled in polite greeting, and he nodded to her. The deck ten button was already lit up.
"We're going to the same place," she commented and stepped toward the wall.
From the corner of her eye, Roxie noticed the boy's eyes focused on her although his body faced forward. She couldn't stop the smile creeping over her lips. The door slid open and he gestured for her to exit first, so she complied. She walked out onto the patio surrounded the swimming pool where numerous folding beach chairs were laid out. About 2/3 of them were taken, but she found one close to the pool, yet not so close that everyone jumping in would splash her. She spread out the beach towel over her chair and peeled her shirt off, and then her shorts, laying them underneath the chair in the shade.
She sat down on the chair and took out the sunscreen. She slathered it over her body, particularly on her freckled face which was very sensitive to the sun. However, she did have a bit of trouble putting it on her back.
"Need help?" an unfamiliar voice with an English accent offered. Roxanne looked around to
