I stop walking toward my desk at the Hartford Courant to turn and see my editor staring at me as she calls me. As I walk over to her I stumble nervously hoping that it isn't any trouble for me. She leads me to her office to talk to me.
"These gentlemen are interested in making some business with us."
She shows me to three men sitting in front of her desk who then proceed to turn and look at me. My eyes widen and my pulse races as my heart beats faster. It's Theodore and Raoulf with another older, more serious, as well as polite, and very handsome man.
All three stand up and wait in a line to shake my hand with a grand smile, the older man looks like he's smiling with his eyes.
"Hello Alexandria, it is a pleasure to meet you. We've heard plenty about you as well as read much from you." says the older man. "My name is Augustine Wildred. This is Theodore," he points at the man with the blue-green eyes, "and this is Raoulf," he points at the man with the silvery eyes, "and we'd like to make you a proposition."
Suddenly, I felt this invisible energy whoosh through my body. Then I saw myself running through a meadow at midnight as a wolf. The trees, grass, it was all a blur under my paws and I didn't stop, I enjoyed the wind whipping at my face as I ran to try to reach for the moon who I thought was my goddess. I powerfully inhaled the wonderful autumn breeze as I howled at my goddess for the freedom that rushed through my veins and the ability to out run any living creature. I look to my right and the wolf is running with me at my side. Raoulf. Those silvery eyes shone bright under the silver beams the moon projected as they wandered through my soul, and my breath caught in my throat.
I woke up on the floor of the office being held in Raoulf's arms while I was being given a glass of water and being fanned by Augustine. I felt cold as the door to the office was wide open to let in some air. "What happened?"
