Envy
I wish I didn't envy Coraline so much, but I do. How could I not? She's amazing, in all the ways that i'm not. She's funny, smart, beautiful. And she has him. So how am I not to envy her? When she's such an amazing person, that he'd pick her over me.
  Obviously she has something I don't. I try to be a good person, but maybe that's not enough. I try to be kind, thoughtful, and caring towards everyone, perhaps I just don't succeed. And maybe she does, maybe she succeds at all of this with out trying at all. Maybe she's just that great of a person.
  I sighed a loud. Collin turned around and gave me a quizzical glance, as if to say 'what was that for?' I shook my head and mouthed the word "Later". Class continued and so did my morbid thoughts of envy. There was nothing I could do to win his affection when it belonged to her. Our teacher finished the class discussion and let us have 'free time'. Immediately Collin turned back to me and asked, "So what's a matter with you?" I looked at him with false confusion.
"What do you mean? I'm just fine." I nonchalantly twisted a piece of hair around my finger. He gave me a glare that told me he saw through the facade I was trying to create.
"You know exactly what I mean Adalee." He stated.
"Do I?" I asked, the green monster wanting a rise. He sighed and rephrased his question.
"Yes, you do," He said calmly, "So tell me, what has you sighing your I'm-upset-but-I-don't-wanna-tell-you sigh?"
I sat straight in my chair and laughed, "So my sigh has it's own specific name?"
He giggled and said, "Yea, I guess it does," The he sobered up as continued, "But that's not the point." He then executed a perfect face-palm. "The point is; you're thinking about something, but you're not telling me. Plus you should really stop playing word games with me."
  My smile instantly soured. "I'm not playing word games Collin, i'm just. . covering all the bases, so to speak." Next thing I hear is;
"Oh my lord. Really Adalee? Really? There you go again." It was quiet for a moment, then I decided to at least give him a hint.
"You should know what's wrong, Collin." I said in a quiet voice.
"I should?" He said, sounding very confused.
"Yea. ." I halfway whispered. He took on a thoughtful look and just sat there for a little while. Did he understand that I was upset, because of her? That I was envious of her?
