One.
The sounds of your breathing as you lie next to me; breathing as we stare up into the sky and watch the stars wink back down at us. Your breathing as you sleep quietly, not stirring at all as I brush my fingers across your cheek.
Two.
Your sweet voice filling my ears as you sing, humming lovely songs quietly to yourself. Your honey voice whispering into my ears, breath ghosting against my cheek.
Three.
Little feet on the hard wood floors of the house. The tapping of her feet on the ground as she practices new dances for a Ball; a Ball where she will meet princes and dance with them until the clock strikes midnight.
Four.
The tapping of your fingers on the keyboard as you hash out some new story that has come to your mind. The sound they make as they furiously type, trying to get all your thoughts through your fingers to the computer in front of you.
Five.
Your sighs of frustration; the little breaths you take as you focus and force yourself to get back onto tasks. The frustration that I will quickly wipe away when I spin you into my arms and kiss you.
Six.
Our little girl laughing as I tickle her, chase her, pretend to be her Prince Charming. Her laugh as I twirl her in her princess dress and make up worlds much better than our own. Her giggle as I whisper "I love you" into her tiny ears.
Seven.
Your heart beating with mine. Synchronized. Always together.
Eight.
The little words we whisper to each other in the darkness of night, in the silence of the world around us; words of devotion, companionship, friendship.
Nine.
The sound of the rain falling on the roof of our house, the house we worked together to get. The house where we will raise our girl till she is fit to go into the world, into her own rainstorms.
Ten.
When you tell me you love me, hugging me as you do. When you tell me that you will never leave me and will stay by my side forever. I love you, the weight of those words, the smile they put onto my face, the pounding it puts into my heart.
