With all this technology, I feel that the quality of the arts, for which we use technology as an aid, will do nothing but increase....expotentially. That said, November 15, 2010 marks the first day I've ever indulged in any type of personal writing since grade school. Without technology, this would not have been the case. I suppose I am my own example of the opening statement.
Photography is the quick and easy example for me. Being an avid photographer, and having the chance to mix the hobby for both persoanl and professional use, I can quickly see how the lines can be blurred. This is why it is proving to be ever more essential to 'step up your game' if you are doing such a medium of a creative art for professional and career oriented lifepaths. Compettion has increases in addtion to the simple require nuances of photographic professionalism when delivering your product to you clients. Again, with sites such as flickr, and adobe program tutorial sites (to name the least), photography is an exmaple of why technology makes the quality of output, in all forms, improve. Aditionally, it requires the perfomrer to be smarter and more tactful.
Somewone with a mathimatical PHD from MIT explained to me this weekend that although their job involes trading and creating algorithms to (in very simple terms) buy or sell, the math used was fairly simple equations. Although Alfredo wanted to use more complex math in his 'dream job,' it's simply not required. What is required fo his position is credentials and tactful or 'clever math' which allows him to gain an edge in the market place, i.e. amaking sure to sell of the certian trade in a way that won't 'tip off' the market place...mathematically of course. The point here is that it was quickly followed up by an off the cuff comment by his wife that in any job, whether it be slaes, marketing or anything where there is a capacity to perform and success is closely guaged, one merely needs to be clever in their implementation of knowledge. So with that explantation perhaps 'being clever' is the gereral termed formula to success.
