Started the New Year in the Noida Ashram. They say " enter the New Year with God in mind " and we have been doing this now for the last 10 years. I feel this gives me more happiness and peace of mind than probably attending a regular New Year Eve Party. However , I am in no way against people who do that or people who sit at home waiting for the new year to embrace them at home. All categories have their reasons for welcoming the new year in a particular way and I respect all of them though I love mine the best. What surprised me this year in the ashram is the attendance of the younger generation. they are in real good numbers and were there until 2 AM. I guess the popularity of the regular parties is going down and people are resorting to spiritual way of celebrating the New Year.
Missed my father a lot. Not that I celebrate the New Year with him every year but this is the first New year that he is not amidst all of us and that did hurt. He was a nice gentle man and has always respected diverse views which some of my brothers took as his weakness. I will always miss him .
Will wait and see what 2011 has in store for me and for others . Hope this is going to be an eventful year for everyone and we will leave behind all that we need to leave behind and take with us all positives of 2010.
