The ship lay quiet, enveloped in the void of space. silence pounded on the exterior hull as the moon sized space station hurled through the void. the hallways echoed the silence from outside. restaurants and concert halls all were quiet. the enormous fusion reactor in the heart of the station pulsed rhythmically like the slowly beating heart of a beast.
Then Mozart's concerto began to sound from every sound system in the entire ship. dipping and building the music guided the behemoth through the empty space towards its destination 35,000 light-years away. As the piece climaxed a raccoon pokes his head out from around the tree under which it was sleeping, unaware that he was the heir of the ship.
