Does it make any sense to complain about every single thing?
I am living with a person who insists that there is something wrong with everything. She complains about the other people in the house. She complains about everything having to do with her job. She even complains about the house we are living in and the food other people cook.
So, I am asking does this help her in any way? Is there something that comes out of complaining so much that I am not getting? It seems to me that there is no point to complaining so much, and that this girl might as well accept her life and live it to the fullest. To me, it makes more sense to stay as positive as possible. I mean, I may not be the most positive person in the world but try to stay optimistic. I find that my attitude can change everything dramatically.
Attitude determines outcomes and affects experiences. I know that you can have a very bad or a very good experience based on your attitude. There have been times when I have been able to change my attitude in order to improve my experience. There have also been times when I have realized too late that I should have changed my attitude in favor of a more positive outcome. These times are some of the few regrets in my life.
Here we have a great opportunity to enjoy each other's company and enjoy our environment immensely. We are stupid not to take advantage of the opportunities that we have.
God, please be with me as I encounter the people who are around me everyday. Please help me to stay positive in the face of all of the complaining that goes on here. Thank you for always being with me and for helping me to trust you everyday. I pray that people in this house will see where things can change and become better for everyone. Please be with us all as we live in a house full of chaos and excitement. Help us to take advantage of every opportunity and to truly live life to the fullest. In your loving son's name I pray. Amen.
