The life of a troubled teen is nowhere near to being far-fetched, but not all see behind the rebellious acts and snark-y attitude, because there is more to such teen.
Could it be that life hasn't come through and treated him well?
Could it be that he's simply mentally unstable?
Or even worse, could it be that he's haunted by the horrors of reality all the time?
Well, life isn't a merry-go-round, it's more of like a roller-coaster. Since it's made up of ups and downs that we can't simply help, but live them through.
As troubled as it is, this teen is just one of many who is undergoing these radical emotional and life changes.
Everything will appear to be haste, a trite and useless existence. But things will come through, it's one only a matter of time till everything will seem and become clearer.

The worst things in life, are the ones that are free to us. The nights get long, and the days are cold. Dreaming of escape, the yearning for the best seems to far out of hand. The beckoning display of hope is on the scene, though it's there, it is not what it seems.
Nothing is handed, nothing comes with no prize.
Get it, got it, don't have it.
It'll only lead you to unbearable pain and suffering. Save yourself from what is to come, and never leave someone behind. Regret and guilt is a heavy load that never seems to dissipate.
So, try to not make it part of your luggage.
