Into His Arms- Notes-3
“I can’t believe this, I frigging can’t believe this. There is actually a debtor’s jail?”
“Only for those that default on government loans Mrs. Robertson.”
“But what about my husband?”
“He filed paperwork stating he wasn’t responsible for your loan.”
“He’s the one who told me if they wouldn’t recognize the deferment papers, then to hell with them.”
“Be that as it may, you have already stated that it was indeed your signature on the paperwork, making you the responsible party.”
“I’m disabled. I haven’t worked in years. What was I suppose to do?”
“You should have contacted the party and worked something out.”
“How could I have worked something out? I haven’t had an income.”
“Then you should have applied for social security.”
“I did and was denied. My husband told me not to worry about it because he made enough to support both of us.”
“Enough Mrs. Robertson. You are hereby ordered to surrender yourself to the court to serve a sentence at the New Start Prison until you have worked off your debt.”
