Life of a dragontamer:
Egg hatches, a colorless, genderless, and scaly creature is born, it's body is in the shape of a human, but it has no skin, and needs no clothes, it's scales are unbreakable, it has a tale and two hornlike things on it's head, where it's hair should be. The moment they are born, they are put together with millions of other little hatchlings(this is what they call a baby dragontamer) they learn to use their magic, after nearly 500 years, they are the size of an 8 year old human child. One at a time, they are put into a room that holds floating orbs that contain one element each, the element that attracts them most will become theirs and will affect the rest of their lives. Once a dragontamer finds it's element, it is sent to find it's dragon in the land of the dragontamer's element, all dragons can only be tamed by their destined dragontamer, though the relation between the ones destined for each other is not obvious at first to the tamer, the tamer realizes the second it touches it's destined dragon. After that, the dragontamer is sent to the human realm and is forced to live one term as a human until the body is 17 years of age. Then their soul leaves the body and they regrow their dragontamer body, but this time the scales are the color of their element, they grow wings, and they're gender is that of the human body's they lived in. Soon the dragontamer must find a mate, and it lives for several thousand years, at the end of it's life cycle, the female in the mating lays 2 eggs, then they both die. This way the population of dragontamers is always even.
