Uluria's Visit to Earth
John turned away from the window suddenly and flattened himself against the wall, a scared look on his face, "Holy crap!" He was breathing hard and his eyes darted around his room, not really looking, but deciding what he should do. He ran through the house to the back door and dropped to the ground at the edge of the hole in his backyard. Waving his hand in the air to clear the smoke he realized it wasn't that, it was steam. Quickly the steam evaporated and he stared down at a round, silver object.
Drumming his fingers against the earth, John pursed his lips and raised his eyebrows in an expression of "well, what now?". He took a deep breath and released it.
"H-hello?"
The object in the ground beeped and orange lines appeared on its surface, crossing the object like wires on a motherboard. The silver thing made a whirring noise and suddenly lifted itself out of the hole and, while John scurried away from it, set itself on the grass. John stepped to the edge of the porch and hesitantly looked into the sky, expecting to see a line of smoke or possibly more of these things dropping through it. He saw nothing. He looked back at the object and circled it like a vulture, debating his next move.
The object in question was egg-shaped from a birds eye view, but a little flattened on the side that faced the sky. It was completely silver but for the orange glowing circuit board lines all over it. The lines seemed to be inside the material the thing was made from, they were not visible before they began to glow, so the light shined through the material. On the surface that faced skyward was a rounded triangle shaped window. But it was opaque, John couldn't see into it. Kneeling down next to it, he tapped the side and it sounded to him like solid metal. The metal thing beeped again as he tapped it and made a sound of released air under pressure. He got up fast and noticed the window, which he assumed was just plain glass, had gone clear. The pane of glass shifted and the edge lifted like a car trunk unlocked. John backed away from the object and hoped what he thought he saw in the thing was not what he thought it was. The thing made the noise again and the glass lifted on a hinge and opened up to show the inside.
John's eyes widened as he began to see the contents of the object, 'I think I'm the luckiest guy on the planet right at this moment,' he thought as figure rose from the silver pod and stepped out slowly onto the grass. Boots matching the pod in colour and lines, quickly stomped over to John. John stared from the weapon in his face to the figure holding it, 'I've got an alien woman!'
