Singularity Happens
The plan had been modified to get the first station up and running fully, then using the forge and factory to build the second station, and then build the second forge and factory, as the two stations would depend on them for repair spare parts and tools. There was talk of building even more stations, possibly even larger than the current plans. And the existing stations had been build with some expansion in mind, although that wasn't really the objective of building them anyway. Given the raw materials and the time, anything could be made.
Comet C0010S was next in the queue, but it was going to take 30 minutes to crush the N1313M with the RIMS, Carl had to monitor the RIMS for it clear enough for the comet to be adjusted for final approach to the forge. Comets needed a lighter touch to prevent too much loss from breakage.
Carl moved the POV to the side of the second segment, the separator, of the forge, came to a relativistic standstill with it, and started a laser connection with the machine. The cabin of the POV disappeared as Carl started to deal with only the virtual control system for the separator. The control systems had enough intelligence by themselves, and with the computing power of the POV helping, and a supposedly sane mind acting as final decision maker, there wasn't much more for Carl to do than look and make sure that things looked like they should.
Carl then switched the cabin mode back to the POV and inspected the output ports. With the forge slinging raw material packets out of the ports to eventually find an orbit around the factory, it was busier than any terrestrial airport, with zero human supervision, it would not be good for the POV or anything else to drift into the path of the RMPs
