The accumulated bitterness of failure forces one to be afraid of trying anything new. In this world, it's impossible to make something of yourself or make any amount of money without building your own empire. The state of the economy has become such that being handed a billion dollar job just because you've put in two years of manual labor as a lower end executive is over. Now, in order to make money you have to make changes, take chances and fail repeatedly. I think the secret is forgetting being afraid of failure and be excited for new opportunities. This is truly the land of opportunity. The problem is, our world is getting to a point where all the ideas need to be 'cutting edge', 'funky', 'original' and they have to take place on the set of a reality t.v. show in order for it to sell. That doesn't work for me. Reality t.v. is crap and has made this world nearly unbearable. Normal people, like myself are forced to constantly watch shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians and think 'What are they famous for again?' They've been around for a few years now, and I still, for the life of me can't figure out why they are famous. It makes absolutely no sense. One of them has a big ass and made a sex tape, is that what has started this whole thing? When we watch those shows we are forced to admit the mediocrity of our lives and how very little we mean to this world. If I'm not on television, I don't post videos on youtube and I don't make sex tapes, I'm never going to be rich. I'm not o.k. with this idea either. Myself, members of my family and all of my friends work their asses off everyday just to make ends meet. All they ask for is that their job stay there for them, they can pay their electric bill and once and a while have enough money to go to happy hour or date night. That doesn't seem like a very fulfilling life, does it? And yet, we continue to make the rich - richer. I would like to know what a CEO's job entails, exactly. I would like to know how people get started on their business adventures without having a dime to their name. Do they have rich relatives that have all the faith in the world in them and gladly fork over thousands of dollars to help get a business started? Do people cash in retirement accounts? What gives? A while ago, I had the perfect idea for a reality show, and when I shared this idea, people often commented on how boring the idea was. I want to make a reality show about normal people. How normal people skrimp and save to have a dependable car, eat reasonable meals, do diy projects to save money and still have a good relationship with their spouse and their children. Yes, how boring indeed; however, WHY is it boring? Is it because we as Americans like to watch all these worthless people continue to get rich so we can be down on ourselves everyday we wake up in our mediocre, boring, broke lives? I don't know. All I know now, is this life is going to change for me. I can do so much better than this...than most. I will make a far better rich person. I've had my shot at being poor, now I want a chance to be rich.
