"I loved everything about her, so I introduced her to all my friends, and they loved her too, so she slept with all of them." He said, running his fingers up my thigh. Through my gray trousers I could feel the snake-heads of his fingertips and, for the first time since meeting this man, I wanted to leave.

"Mister Andrews." I said, brushing them off. "I have absolutely no idea what relevance that has to this project of yours."

"Oh, you do." Green eyes are like knives into my skin. "I know you do."

"No, I don't." I bit into the thick coating of lipstick so liberally applied to my smile this morning. "Months of hypnotherapy say I don't."

For the next few moments, I swore I could see him planning a cocky-assed remark. Through a drugged, psycho-manipulated fog, I could still recognize the mischievous sparkle in his eye that always meant trouble. I was shocked when he merely cocked his eyebrows.

"What I've been trying to say, Carissa." He said. "Is that I don't want just any kid."

"Go on." I said, scribbling it into my notebook.

"First, they must be connected in some way." He said. "But not so much that the relationship carries on into their new life."

"Got it."

"Next, I don't want a majority; they need to be diverse."

"Easy enough." I said, pleased that he had seemed to forget about "it".

"Finally, they have to be the cream of the crop" He smirked.

"You mean, like overachiev-"
