"Love at first sight" is a fairytale notion. To think that one can feel as if she knows another human being in the moment that they first lock eyes is incredible, and incredibly romantic. When I first laid eyes on Geio, I felt as if there was an instant, intrinsic connection between us. Granted, he was beautiful, but it wasn't his hazel contacts that caught my eyes - it was his piercing gaze. I could feel his eyes lingering on me even after I had moved on to the others nonchalantly.
The ten days of bliss that followed hammered into my head the intense idea that surely he had been mine before. Something in him recognized something in me and both somethings rejoiced as if they were long-lost twins. The reunion was haphazard and clumsy, not fitting the magic at all. The timing was all wrong.
Uncharted land lies ahead. This man who stole my heart (and possibly stashed it into a locker hidden far from prying eyes) is now on the back burner, where he belongs during this stage of my life. Uncharted is just that - I can create a story that leads into the thorny depths of a menacing forest, one that stumbles blindly into love's territory, or one that meanders towards far-reaching rivers of success. Perhaps I will walk along all of these paths. What the future holds, I do not know, but I hope the beholder has hands of steel.

Life Lesson #5
What you don't have you don't need it now. U2 taught me this one. It's completely true. I lust for an iPhone on my Macbook Pro while sipping on my overpriced Starbucks white chocolate mocha. Things are spectacular for me compared to millions of others. I am
