"Remember...remember..." Back and forth he rocked as he squatted in the dark, cold corner of the Dance Hall. "Remember..." He seemed to chant to himself, eyes fixed on the center of the room, unseeing and a little glazed. He saw not the present, but a memory. He saw the night Mari fell by an assassin's dagger. Before she faded, she had told him to remember...if only he could clear the cob-webs in his soul and find her words.

Theowyn was a man lost. How right you would be. Why would he revisit the scene of such an terrible crime? Perhaps because he saw it not as a crime seen, but rather as the last moment he and Mari shared.

He eased himself up, using the wall to brace himself. A rustling outside tore his attention from his memories, and threw him into the present. Instinctively, he felt for the dagger with the blue gem that he kept always. Gripping the handle, muscles tense, he silently crept towards the door.
Rounding the door, he saw the casual, smiling face or Rancour.

Leaning carelessly against the door jam, Rancour cracked a charismatic grin, "Whoa, hey...don't hurt me." He laughed a little, and clapped Theo on the shoulder.

Theo, replaced the dagger, and shook his head. "How'd you find me up here?"
"You're not as hard to track as you think you are. Most people aren't...are they?" He directed this question to the little lox on his shoulder. She chittered happily.

Theowyn watched this interaction between Rancour and his pet. Rancour was a hard one to understand. He view the world with such hatred, and yet this furry little lox had won his heart.

"Oh, yea? Well I'll have to try harder next time. What do you want, Rancour?" Theo asked, pushing past his tracker and into the dense overgrowth of the Iso'Lari forest.

"Not what I want, Theo...what Leus wants. He needs to talk to you about what you're planning. Sent me after you, since I have no problem following you." Rancour cracked another wide grin.
Heaving a sigh, looked back toward the Mo'Daro Dance Hall, and began the long trek back toward Iso'Lari proper.
