Storms, storms, storms. It seems that storms are the only weather here in Newville, Oregon. Alicia Mason had only been here for three days, and she hadn't gotten a wink of sleep ever since she left New York.
Maybe it was a sign that she didn't belong here. But she knew it was either staying with her Aunt Lucy and Uncle Jerry or boarding school. The choice was hard, because she never really knew Lucy and Jerry. All she knew is that they had an eleven-year-old son, Carter, Jerry worked in some office, and Lucy was a nurse.
But boarding school... She wouldn't know anyone, plus it was very far away from her home-so far she didn't even know or remember where- with no chances of visiting except on holidays. At Lucy and Jerry's her parents could visit anytime they were on business and on holidays.

Oh, no... seeing why it was a bad thing again. Why did her parents have to split now, just before her freshman year? WHY???!!!! They'd tortured her enough with the fancy parties, stuck-up school, and setting her up with rich friends sons. I mean, really? What kind of parent sets up their own fourteen-year-old daughter on dates? Isn't it their job to make sure I don't date or something protective like that?
Alicia rolled her eyes and laid down on her bed. She survied her new room. It wasn't too bad, yet not so good. The soothing blue of the paint made her eyelids heavy. As she pulled the covers up to her chin, she swore she saw two blood red eyes looking throu
