its easy to fall asleep when imagining an immaculate future.

the other day when she went to visit her two best friends from college she had spent all night awake with one of them; they had talked for 9 straight hours. the only reason they had stopped was because their other friend had finally woken up for her morning run. as they heard her rummaging around in her room for her tennis shoes her best friend had turned to her and said, alright, im out, im gonna fantasize about my kids.

and thats exactly it. everything is better when you have an idea of a perfect ending. now dont get me wrong, no fairytale... but an ending, or at least the start to a perfect ending.

The smell of weed swamped her as she stepped in to the house. earthy and warm, the scent crept and spun around her into the glinting afternoon sun. she left her snow covered boots in the front entrance way and dropped her coat on the floor. Her sister always kept her apartment excessively warm. She put her mittens and her hat on the cheap electric heater in the hallway and headed towards the back of the apartment where she found her sister in the bathtub, sipping wine from the bottle using a purple crazy straw. her sisters cat sat on the windowsill close to the tub surrounded by piles of books.

the opening part of six feet under was always her favorite.
for some miniscule obnoxious reason, she obsessed over the deaths,
the millions of ways
a person could die

she started drinking at nights.
just pouring herself a tiny mixed drink for the tub.
it made the bathing experience more positive.
more spunky.
more erotic.
