I: You say you have no talents but yet still find yourself as one of the most famous young men of this generation, and you never yearned for fame?
A: For some, fame is an end. For others, fame never comes, and for others, fame never should have come. I wouldn’t hesitate to say that most people have no longing to be famous, I surely do not. For me, fame is a means to an end—and the end has always been my goal.
I: And end for what?
A: To travel, and traveling can be expensive. I’ve always wanted to see the world, and would do just about anything to get there, to get the money to go to the places I wanted for so long to see.
I: Many of your fans accuse you of being a sellout, even, and I quote, a liar and a cheat. How do you respond to that?
A: Well I’m flattered. However, if someone wants to pay me for pictures of my body because people want to see it, so be it. If people want to pay me to write about what I do, and it does not even have to be true, so be it. There was a demand and I met it—I packaged myself, branded it and supplied it to the world. If they are unhappy with what I have done, they shouldn’t have asked for it.
I: You sound so ambivalent to those who support you, even bitter. Why is that?
A: No, no, please don’t for a second think that I am bitter or that I am unhappy. There are millions of people all over the globe who for one reason or another want to know about me, and I am so grateful for them. They’ve made my dreams come true. I only seek to point out that they shouldn’t be angry with me for the decisions I’ve made, especially if they look at the fact that they created this, this monster, if you will.
