The alarm on Chloe's nightstand rang shrilly, startling her from her sleep. Her hand flew out from under the covers and slammed on the snooze button, shutting up the blaring noise. "We really need a new clock." She grumbled.

"Yeah, well this one works." Marie yawned, staggering out of bed and running a hand through her tangled hair.

"I don't wanna get up. I hate Mondays." Chloe buried herself deeper into her covers.

"Man, if I have to get up, so do you." Marie tugged on Chloe's blankets, pulling them off of the other girl and making her glare.

"That's mean." Chloe pouted at her friend.

"That's life, now get up before you make us late." Marie said and headed for the bathroom.
