Family Portraits
Our tradition for the last five years is to take a family portrait on the first day of the lunar new year. From the time my nephew was around three, we started taking a few shots from then, until last year when my beloved pet dog of 11 years passed on. I was upset. Shortly after that, I adopted an abandoned or lost dog of the same breed. I would like to think it was lost rather than abandoned. Anyway, I was glad. The powers to be gave me another gift. This year, I thought of resuming the tradition on the first day of the new year. I hesitated because there were two people who aren't really family. I waited till today. We took our shots. I am happy.
